First things first - we take your privacy very seriously. Our goal
is to provide an awesome budgeting experience while using as little
of your data as possible. Go Budget's creators are privacy conscious
and strive to ensure that you, our privacy conscious user, feel
comfortable with our data policies. In short, our policies are:
1. For the free, local-only version of Go Budget (which, by the way, will remain free and ad-free forever), all budget data stays on your phone and never reaches our servers. The only data we would ever get from your phone using the free version would be app analytics data (for detecting and fixing crashes, improving performance, etc.), though we use even this data as sparingly as possible.
2. For premium features like sharing budgets, we try to provide these features
while collecting as little personal information as possible - just a first name and
email address (you don't even have to use your real name, so long as you own the email
We also never mix analytics and budget data, and we commit to storing your budget and user account data for the sole purpose of enabling you to access it across devices and share with others you trust.
Now, with all of that in mind, keep reading for a bit more detail on our policy, including what third-party services we use and how we use them.
The Go Budget mobile app can be used on your device without creating a Go Budget account. In this case, we do not ask you for any personal information, nor do we collect any information for our own servers from your device. We do use some very common app performance and usage analytics tools provided by third parties, as detailed below, but we do not mix this data with your budget data in any way.
If you use certain Go Budget features (e.g. Go Budget+), then you agree to give us a small amount personal information - namely, your:
We use this to set up a user account for you so that you can access Go Budget features such as online backup and budget sharing (among others).
We will not use any of this information, or any of your budget information, for any purpose besides this. We will also not share it with any third parties.
Third Party Services
Go Budget uses some well-known third party services that may collect information used to identify you - namely, Firebase Analytics and Google Play Services. We use these third party services to analyze app performance and usage, and we do not mix this analytics data with your Go Budget user account or budget data.
Please refer to the below links for the privacy policies of all third party services used to help provide the Go Budget app's service.
Go Budget, like any software, will occasionally experience errors while running on your device. In these cases, we may collect data (in some cases using third party integrations as mentioned above) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics. This data is used solely to help us identify and fix errors with the app, analyze app usage and performance, and ultimately provide a better Go Budget Experience. It is not used for advertising or any other purpose unrelated to the Go Budget service.
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.
The Go Budget mobile apps do not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.
At present, we use third party service providers only for the purpose of analyzing app performance and usage, and we do not mix your Go Budget account or budget data with these third parties. Any third parties we use will be noted in this Policy, along with an explanation for why we use them. In the future, if we use any third party service providers to provide any services beyond those noted above, we will add information about them here.
We value your trust in providing us your personal information. Thus, we only use common and commercially accepted means of protecting it. Nevertheless, it is important to know that no method of data transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
